If you choose to join FBC Newark in any of our weekly services or times of study through God’s word, you might want to know what you are getting yourself into.
What you will find:
- A Sincere and loyal fellowship of believers who are accountable to God and to each other in the power of the Holy Spirit who also desire to Glorify God in ALL THINGS!
- A blend of tastes, desires, cultures, languages, music, thoughts, and philosophies that are all unified in the light of God’s sovereign Glory! Come as you are, you will be fine, just know our main goal!
- A strong passion for God’s word and a promise to challenge the faith and knowledge of all who partner with us as we grow to ‘know’ God deeper each day.
- Expositional Preaching – We adhere to God’s word as the final authority as it was originally written, so we place great emphasis on the actual meaning of the words to the original hearers then work to effectively apply them to our lives today.
- An overwhelming sense of growth and community. We are growing every day in Grace individually and together. God uses our talents and personalities, interests and desires in His plan to edify the church, so we are never where we are ‘going’ to be, but always getting better at serving Christ and each other.
- A love for children, youth, adults and seniors of all races, nationalities and beyond. We engage all ages with growing in the truth of God’s word. Plain and simple.
What you will NOT find:
- You will not find a heart of apathy toward scripture and the seriousness of God’s revelation to us.
- You will not find a watered-down Gospel that will entertain our current social and feel-good for me culture.
- You will not find an unloved people, if you are among us, we love you, no matter what you may be going through.
- You will not find a disinterest in your life and your problems. We are all “extra Grace required” people, and the mark of a true believer is suffering with joy. WE desire to know your problems, struggles and fears and will walk with you and even carry you in the power of the Cross if needed!
- You will not find a flashy and expensive use of God’s resources to appease the masses or draw the crowds. Simply, we are stewards and we have been entrusted with the Gospel. WE take seriously God’s calling to do what is necessary and forgo the rest. We are not cheap, but focused.
- You will not find a closed door. We are open to all people who want the truth, no matter how long you’ve been looking – you can trust you will be told what real faith is and how you can have a true object of faith worthy of your time.
